September 2, 2026, Doha – Qatar: Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), a leading onshore financial and business center, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AlRayan Bank (Q.P.S.C), one of Qatar's leading Islamic banks, to enhance banking access for QFC firms and collaborate on strengthening Islamic finance and capital markets in Qatar.
Under the MoU, QFC will promote AlRayan as a strategic banking partner to firms licensed on its platform and refer new QFC firms to AlRayan to open corporate bank accounts. AlRayan will design a customized banking offering for QFC firms and their employees, including immediate banking services for staff new to Qatar. Both parties will also explore integrating their digital platforms to enable a more seamless account opening process for QFC-registered entities.
The MoU also establishes a framework for cooperation on preventing, detecting and mitigating financial crime risks, including money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud. Both parties will exchange best practices and strengthen alignment with international regulatory standards.
The partnership further encompasses collaboration to ensure seamless data flow, standardized processes and enhanced operational efficiency between the two entities, particularly in relation to QFC client onboarding. Through this collaboration, both parties will work to enhance access to relevant banking and investment solutions offered by AlRayan Bank and its subsidiary, AlRayan Investment, while providing customized banking offers and special benefits for QFC-licensed firms and their employees.
