Investment Managers & Funds

Qatar's goal to diversify and build a knowledge-based economy has created a powerful ecosystem for global and regional asset managers. At QFC, investment and asset management refers to regulated investment management on behalf of clients, including individuals, institutions and family offices, whether discretionary or advisory. This enables firms to operate seamlessly across the region while benefiting from Qatar's economic stability, strong credit rating, and long-term vision.

Investment managers can establish and operate a wide range of fund structures within QFC under the regulatory oversight of the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA). Investment funds are governed by frameworks such as the Collective Investment Schemes Rules (COLL) and Professional Investor Funds Rules (PROF), allowing for retail, qualified investor and private placement schemes. This includes Equity Funds, Fixed Income Funds, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), Hedge Funds, Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), Islamic Funds, Sustainable and Responsible Investing (SRI) Funds, Money Market Funds and Fund Custody.

Investment funds can also be registered using flexible legal structures such as Collective Investment Companies (CIC), Collective Investment Partnerships (CIP), Collective Investment Trusts (CIT) and other forms permitted by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA).
